ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The 81st Pakistan Day is being celebrated on Tuesday with a renewed commitment to work hard for the progress and stability of the Country.

Pakistan Day is annually celebrated across the Country on March 23 to commemorate the Lahore Resolution adopted on the same day in 1940 at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore which eventually led to the creation of Pakistan on August 14, 1947.

The Day dawned with a 31-gun salute in the Federal Capital and 21-gun salute in Provincial Capitals.

Special prayers were offered in mosques after Fajr prayers for the progress, prosperity, and solidarity of the Country.

It is a public holiday today and the national flag has been mounted on major government buildings.

The annual Joint Services Pakistan Day Parade, which was scheduled on Tuesday, will now be held on March 25, 2021 at Shakarparian Parade Ground in Islamabad.

Due to ongoing inclement weather and rains forecasted over next two days, Pakistan Day Parade has been rescheduled. The Joint Services Pakistan Day Parade will now be held on 25th March 2021 as per program and timings already specified,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Monday.

In view of the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, all the events in connection with Pakistan Day are being held ensuring the compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

In the afternoon, an investiture ceremony will be held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad where President Dr. Arif Alvi will confer awards and medals to personalities for their outstanding contribution in different fields.
