NationalNAB does not believe in any political victimization: Javed Iqbal

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chairman National Accountably Bureau (NAB) Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has said that the anti-graft body is working as per the law and constitution, and it doesn’t believe in any political victimization.

While addressing ceremony in Islamabad on Tuesday, the Chairman NAB categorically stated that no compromise will be made on the accountability of corrupt elements.

Javed Iqbal said that NAB doesn’t have affiliation with any political party, and across the board accountability will be ensured. He said that he won’t succumb to any pressure.

The Chairman NAB said that 1,270 references involving an amount of Rs 940 billion are currently pending before the Accountability Courts across the Country. He said that NAB in the first place focused on the cases which were pending over the last 25 to 30 years.

Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal called for increasing the strength of their judges to ensure speedy trial of the references.

The Chairman NAB said that the world institutions have also appreciated the performance of the anti-graft body.
