ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Dr. Arif Alvi will address the Joint Session of the Parliament in Islamabad on Monday to mark the fourth Parliamentary Year of the National Assembly.

Both the Houses of the Parliament – National Assembly and Senate – will assemble together at 04:00 pm.

The Session will formally kick off with the recitation of the Holy Quran & Naat, and playing of the national anthem.

It will be followed by the address of President Arif Alvi to the Joint Session under Clause (3) of Article 56 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

To participate in the Session, special invitations have been extended to four Provincial Governors, Chief Ministers, President & Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and Chief Minister & Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan by the National Assembly Secretariat.

Special invitations have also been extended to Speakers of four Provincial Assemblies and Speakers of AJK Legislative Assembly & Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, as well as to the Prime Minister’s Special Assistants.

Likewise, the Chief Justice of Pakistan, the Auditor General of Pakistan, the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Heads of Constitutional Bodies and Federal Secretaries have also been extended invitation to participate in the Joint Session of the Parliament.

Besides, Chiefs of Armed Forces, Foreign Diplomats, and media representatives are also among the invitees.

Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
