ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Reforms meeting was apprised on Thursday that the Neelum Jhelum Project would be operational by December, 2017.

The committee which met at the office of the Chief Executive Officer, Neelum Jhelum Hydro Power Project (NJHPP) Muzaffarabad (AJK) was directed that all efforts should be made to complete the project in line with the given time frame.

The meeting of the committee was held under the Chairmanship of Abdul Majeed Khan Khanan Khail, MNA.

The committee visited different sites of the NJHPP and monitored the physical progress of the project.

MNAs, Shaheen Shafiq, Shamas-un-Nisa, Junaid Akbar, Qaiser Jamal and Sheikh Salahuddin attended the meeting, besides officials of Ministry of Planning, Development & Reform and Ministry of Water & Power.
