National Assembly5,634 foreign tourists visited Pakistan in 2015, NA told

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Assembly was informed on Wednesday that 5,634 foreign tourists visited Pakistan in 2015.

State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs replying to a question in the National Assembly said that number of foreign tourists decreased due to prevailing law and order situation and incidents of terrorism in the country.

He, however, said that the government was expecting increase in foreign tourists inflow after recent improvement in law and order situation.

He said that after 18th constitution amendment, tourism was provincial subject, adding that federal government was taking steps for promoting tourism in the country.

Replying to another question, he said that Pakistan International Airline had earned net profit 16,775 dollars from Roosevelt Hotel in United States during last five years.
