ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Nation is celebrating 76th Independence Day on Monday with a renewed pledge to work with the spirit of Pakistan Movement to make the Country a true Islamic welfare state.Independence Day

The Day dawned with 31- gun salute at the Federal Capital and 21-gun salute at the Provincial Headquarters.

Special prayers were offered in mosques at dawn for peace, solidarity and prosperity of the Country.

The main feature of the celebrations was the national flag hoisting ceremony held at Convention Center in Islamabad.

Similar flag hoisting ceremonies were also held at provincial, divisional and district headquarters level throughout the Country.Independence Day

Like other parts of the Country, Pakistan’s 76th Independence Day is also being celebrating in Punjab with traditional zeal and fervor.

While acting upon directives from the Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi the Independence Day festivities have been marked with a blend of grandeur and patriotic fervor as extensive plans have been finalized for Punjab’s jubilant observance.

Today at Greater Iqbal Park and Lahore Development Authority City, a vibrant display of fireworks is scheduled to illuminate the skies.

Simultaneously, flag-hoisting ceremonies are being held in unison across all divisional and district headquarters throughout Punjab.

The main event organized by the Punjab government to mark the Independence Day anniversary of Pakistan is scheduled at Huzuri Bagh.

The Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi will grace the occasion as the chief guest.
