Murree, Pakistan: City Traffic Police Murree has issued a comprehensive and coordinated Murree Traffic Plan for Eid-ul-Fitr Holidays.
Chief Traffic Officer Murree Mughees Ahmed Hashmi said that Murree is a city of great importance in terms of tourism and millions of tourists from all over the country visit Murree during Eid-ul-Fitr.
He said that additional personnel have been deployed in Murree in light of the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, IG Punjab and Additional IG Traffic Punjab. The City Traffic Police Murree has completed traffic arrangements in view of the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays in which more than 200 traffic wardens will perform their duties.
Guidance will be provided to tourists through barriers, banners and pamphlets on all the entrance routes of Murree city. Chief Traffic Officer Murree said that during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, all traffic from Rawalpindi and Islamabad can reach Murree via the expressway and RMK GT Road. During Eid-ul-Fitr, 5 roads (Viewforth Road, Bank Road, Hall Road, Kuldana Road, Ridge Bell Road) have been made one-way in Murree district.
Mall Road will remain closed for all types of traffic.
Five sectors of Murree have been created for better traffic flow. City Traffic Police Murree will provide complete travel facilities and other services to tourists coming to Murree. CTO Murree Mughees Ahmed Hashmi said that there will be a complete ban on all types of parking in front of Habib Bank GPO Chowk or its surroundings, from GPO Chowk to Cecil Hotel and Kuldana Road, Bank Road GPO to Kohsar University, while GPO Chowk has been declared parking-free. The biggest problem in Circle Murree is parking, so tourists are requested to park their vehicles only in the designated places. He further said that except for water tankers and food supply vehicles (trucks and heavy vehicles), water and food supply in the city area will be allowed from 1 am to 7 am. Chief Traffic Officer Murree Mughees Ahmed Hashmi issued orders to all officers that during Eid, duty duties in Murree should be performed with utmost hard work, dedication and a spirit of serving the public.
To resolve traffic problems, the City Traffic Police Murree has set up a control room at the Sunny Bank location so that all possible facilities can be provided to tourists. CTO Murree has advised tourists coming to Murree from all over the country to try to bring a mechanically sound vehicle during Eid-ul-Fitr.
