SHUSHA, Azerbaijan: The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has lauded the role of Pakistani media, saying that it has always been very supportive and positive.

Responding to a question regarding the Pakistan-Azerbaijan Relationship at the 2nd Shusha Global Media Forum on Saturday, President Ilham Aliyev was of the opinion that he has wonderful relationships with brother Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and both Countries are working very closely.Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev all praise for Pakistani media

President Ilham Aliyev said that Pakistan and Azerbaijan enjoy a high frequency of people-to-people exchanges and both the Countries need to promote business-to-business relations for enhancing economic relations.

The president reiterated Azerbaijan’s commitment to build a strong partnership with Pakistan not only on a political level but also on economic level, trade and investment. He said that bot these Countries could also explore the possibility of working together in the renewable energy sector.

President Ilham Aliyev also said that Pakistan-Azerbaijan brotherhood is based on deep feelings between our people towards each other which go back to centuries.

It’s worth noting that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev recently paid a state visit to Pakistan from July 11-12, 2024, during which the two sides discussed all areas of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation and expressed a desire to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across the entire range of bilateral relations.

The three-day 2nd Shusha Global Media Forum is being held in Azerbaijan’s City of Shusha from July 20 to 22, 2024 with the theme “Unmasking False Narratives: Confronting Disinformation”.

The event – being held on the occasion of the 149th anniversary of the National Press, brought together more than 150 foreign guests from about 50 countries including news agencies of 30 countries, 3 international organizations, and 82 media outlets.
