Maryam Nawaz rejects Charter of Economy, calls it absurd

LAHORE, Pakistan: The Vice President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz has rejected the proposed Charter of Economy, terming it absurd and ridiculous.

It is worth noting that the President PML-N and the Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif while speaking on the floor of the House on June 20 said that they were prepared to sign a Charter of Economy with the government to take the Country forward.

However Maryam Nawaz while addressing a Press Conference in Lahore on Saturday described Charter of Economy as ‘Charter of humorous’, and said that we are not ready to clinch a deal with those who have ruined the economy.

Maryam Nawaz said that she is not seeking any relief from the ‘fake government’. She said that the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is a political prisoner, and enduring all sufferings for the sake of the people.

The PML-N leader also alleged that Nawaz Sharif suffered a heart attack for the third time while being imprisoned at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi; however neither she nor his personal physician Dr Adnan Khan was informed about that. She said that if something happens to Nawaz Sharif, all will be held responsible.

Earlier on Friday, the Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser told on twitter that Prime Minister Imran Khan had agreed to the constitution of a Special Committee on Charter of Economy to cope with economic challenges facing the Country.

Meanwhile as per the sources, the opposition leaders Syed Khursheed Shah and Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met the government representatives Amir Dogar and Ali Mohammad Khan in the National Assembly, and set a condition of Imran Khan himself making a contact with them for Charter of Economy.
