LHC accepts Gullu Butt's bail plea

LAHORE, Pakistan: A two-member bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday accepted the bail plea of Gullu Butt, an alleged member of the ruling the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the main accused in the Model Town vandalism incident.

The high court asked him to submit surety bonds worth Rs100,000.

Gullu Butt was caught smashing cars during the clashes between workers of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and the police outside the Minhajul Quran International Secretariat on June 17.

Butt smashed windscreens and windows of private vehicles with his club, while police officials looked on and the vandalism continued unabated.
