ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ambassador of Germany to Pakistan Ina Lepel has informed the Federal Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar that leading German companies plan to invest in telecom and energy sectors in Pakistan.

In a meeting with the minister in Islamabad on Saturday in which the German ambassador discussed the investment opportunities in Pakistan, and said that she looked forward to the government particularly the finance minister’s support for facilitating these companies.

   

Ishaq Dar welcomed the investment programme of the German companies and said that the government of Pakistan fully encourages foreign investment which is the key component of the growth policy it is now pursuing with full vigour.

The finance minister said that the government has announced a business friendly budget which offers incentives for industry. He said that the German companies should make full use of the liberal investment regime that Pakistan offers.

Ina Lepel thanked the minister for the encouragement and support offered for investment by German companies.

The senior officials of the Ministry of Finance and Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) also attended the meeting.
