HealthKPK govt to setup modern lab for diagnosis of fatal diseases

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to establish a modern laboratory for diagnosis of epidemic and fatal diseases.

In his regard, an agreement was signed among the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department, National Institute of Health (NIH) and Khyber Medical University.

The laboratory will provide facility of early diagnosis of diseases which will enable the patients to arrange timely treatment for them.

In the first phase, the laboratory will provide hepatitis, diphtheria, cholera, malaria, leishmania, dengue, measles and flue diagnosis facility, while in the second phase, polio, Congo and Ebola virus tests facility will be made available for the patients.



The diagnosis facility of fatal diseases was earlier available only at the NIH Islamabad.
