SocialKhawaja Asif refuses to give deadline to end load shedding

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for water and power Khawaja Asif said on Saturday that it might take years to end load shedding as it was like piled up garbage of 13/14 years which could not be cleared immediately.

Talking to media persons in Islamabad, Khawaja Asif said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had five years to resolve this issue, but they wasted it. He said our first priority was to reduce the duration of load shedding.

Khawaja Asif said that he has yet to take charge of the ministry of water and power, he would be able to review the real situation within four days.

Meanwhile, he said countrywide parity would be maintained in load shedding, no discrimination would be made with anyone and the duration of load shedding would be cut short in the holy month of Ramazan.

He assured that he would be making sincere efforts for resolving this issue, the people would be informed if unannounced load shedding resorted to.

However, the minister for water and power refused to give any deadline for ending the menace of load shedding.
