Barbed wire is a type of steel fencing wire constructed with sharp edges and is used atop walls surrounding secured property and is also used as a major feature for fortifications in warfare.

Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK) is the most Militarized region in the world and now IoK is caged with barded wires everywhere in streets, buildings, roads, schools, hospitals and markets. Young generation of Kashmiri is born to cross these wires while gripping hands of their mothers whenever they go out of their homes.

In this click of photojournalist Masrat Zahra shows a Kashmiri mother with her two kids walking on a road and carefully crossing barbed wires so her kids are not hurt physically although she knows that souls of her kids are already injured.

As a caption of this photo, Masrat writes:

“As the whole world is under a lockdown (due to COVID-19) and many comparing and seeking tips from Kashmiris who have suffered worst state-imposed lockdowns in the recent years. I want to use a picture everyday here to let the world know how Kashmiris live since ages”.

Masrat Zahra is now facing a case of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for indulging in “anti-national activities” on social media for clicking photos exhibiting agonies of Kashmiri women and children.

Indian State Police accuse her for uploading anti-national posts [on Facebook] with criminal intentions to induce the youth becausing reality is anti-national and a crime in IoK.

Masrat Zahra is scare about her future because case against her is a non-bail able office and she can be throw behind bars for seven long years for her professional work.
