ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and the Defense Minister Pervez Khattak visited the Chiri Kot Sector of the Line of Control (LoC) on Monday.

The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on National Security Moeed Yusuf also accompanied them.

During their visit, the dignitaries were briefed in detail by Military Officials about the situation at the Line of Control and the Indian forces’ unabated ceasefire violations causing civilians casualties.Line of Control - The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and the Defense Minister Pervez Khattak visited the Chiri Kot Sector of the Line of Control (LoC) on Monday. The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on National Security Moeed Yusuf also accompanied them. During their visit, the dignitaries were briefed about the situation at the LoC and the Indian forces’ unabated ceasefire violations causing civilians casualties. Earlier before leaving for the Chiri Kot Sector, the foreign minister in a video message said that he is visiting the Azad Kashmir border along with the defense minister to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people who face the Indian atrocities and unprovoked firing on daily basis. The minister said that the entire Pakistani nation including the armed forces fully stand by the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for right to self-determination. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the Kashmiri people have rejected the Indian illegal steps of August 5. The foreign minister said that the Kashmiri people will continue their struggle until they get their right to self-determination. It’s worth mentioning that the nation will observe Youm-e-Istehsal on Wednesday (August 5) to mark the first anniversary of India’s illegal action of scrapping the special constitutional status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. One-minute silence will be observed across the Country in the morning to express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri people. Prime Minister Imran Khan will also address the Legislative Assembly of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday to further highlight the Kashmiri people’s struggle for freedom and their sufferings at the hands of Indian forces. Likewise, President Dr. Arif Alvi will also lead a rally on the day while all the Chief Ministers will speak at their respective assemblies to condemn Indian brutalities on the people of the held valley.
