ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday presided over an All Parties Conference (APC) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad.

The Conference was attended by the leadership of all main political parties in the Country.

The Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz, the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan, the Minister of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur, the Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Railways Mian Farrukh Habib, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on National Security Moeed Yusuf, and the Director-General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed attended the Conference.

In the Conference, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) lawmakers Senator Sherry Rehman, Syed Naveed Qamar, Raja Pervez Ashraf while from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Khawaja Asif, Mushahid Hussain Syed, and Raja Zafarul Haq among others participated. The foreign minister briefed the participants regarding human rights violations in the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K) and Yaum-e-Istehsal to be observed on August 5 (Wednesday) to mark 365 days of the military siege of the IOJ&K.

In the Conference, Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) lawmakers Senator Sherry Rehman, Syed Naveed Qamar, Raja Pervez Ashraf while from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Khawaja Asif, Mushahid Hussain Syed, and Raja Zafarul Haq among others participated.

The foreign minister briefed the participants regarding human rights violations in the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K) and Yaum-e-Istehsal to be observed on August 5 (Wednesday) to mark 365 days of the military siege of the IOJ&K.

Separately, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the observance of Yaum-e-Istehsal on August 5 with the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the Chair.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on National Security Moeed Yusuf, the Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood, the Federal Secretary Information Akbar Hussain Durrani, the top military officials were present.

During the meeting, the foreign minister briefed the participants about his visit to the Chiri Kot Sector of the Line of Control (LoC) and Muzaffarabad.

The foreign minister also apprised them of his meetings with the political leadership of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) including President Sardar Masood Khan and Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the Indian forces are targeting the unarmed and innocent citizens at the LoC.

The minister said that the entire Kashmiri population has rejected the illegal and unilateral actions taken by India on August 5 last year.

Qureshi said that the entire nation will observe Yaum-e-Istehsal on Wednesday to express solidarity with their Kashmiri brethren.
