JUI-F MNA Maulvi Agha Muhammad disqualified in fake degree case

QUETTA, Pakistan: An election tribunal in Balochistan on Tuesday disqualified the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) lawmaker in the National Assembly Maulvi Agha Muhammad in a fake degree case.

The tribunal declared null and void the May 2013 election results of the constituency NA-261 Pishin-Ziarat, and ordered re-polling at all polling stations.

The petition had been taken up by the tribunal on the complaint of runner-up candidate Muhammad Essa Roshan of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP).

During proceedings in the tribunal, it was proved that Agha Muhammad’s degree was fake and that he had never been to any educational institution.
