ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: On an initiative taken by IG Islamabad Police Sultan Azam Taimuri and President NPC Shakeel Anjum, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police in collaboration with National Press Club (NPC) organized a Police Media Consultative Workshop titled “Police Media Sath Sath” in the Federal Capital on Tuesday.

The workshop which took place at NPC included a brainstorming session for Police-Media relationship.

The round-table discussion was attended by all important police officials of Superintendent of Police (SP) Level and senior journalists.

The interactive session was held to understand professional demands of both sides. Both sides agreed to work closely to protect State interests.

The IG Islamabad Police Sultan Azam Taimuri explained the necessity of code of conduct during crime scene reporting.

Muhamad Ali Babakhel from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Level Officer of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Cadre, explained that how police and media are engaged in the northwestern province.

However, since majority of parts of discussion was off the record; therefore, it was decided not to report recommendations before they would be finalized by both sides.
