Biometric Verification System (BVS) SIMs need verification before February 26, 2015, for which we now have to re-verify the SIMs or provide detailed letters in the process of transferring ownership. It has made it easier for citizens to check SIM number, and transfer and verification their numbers. Here we will tell you the details on how to transfer SIM ownership and the verification process. 

Requirements To Transfer SIM Ownership

Before we move on to the detailed process we need to know about the required material for this process.

  • Original Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or NICOP or Smart National Identity Card (SNIC)
  • Registered SIM of the respective network
  • Information about the number of SIMs.

If you have registered 5 SIMs against your CNIC then you are not enabled to own more than 5 SIMs. If you want to know how many SIMs are registered against your CNIC then go through one of the following processes. 

  • SIM information Website
  • Send the CNIC number to 668.

Both of these processes require CNIC without dashes.  

Re-verification Process

When you have done with the above-mentioned processes then you have to follow the following process. 

  • Go to the nearest Franchise, BVS Shop, Service Center
  • Provide respective SIM number with CNIC
  • Place Thumb on the biometric device only ONCE for each SIM
  • You will receive a confirmation SMS from about verified SIM
  • Provide Rs 10 only for each SIM re-verified 

Note: Due to a large number of re-verification across the country, you may not receive immediate confirmation. Please wait a day or two to receive the confirmation SMS.

Ownership Transfer Process

You can also transfer SIM ownership by the following process if someone else has the registration of the SIM.

1- If you know the person to whom your SIM is registered

  • Get a copy of the CNIC of both members, the current owner and to whom SIM ownership is to be transferred (may be required).
  • Go to the nearest Franchise, BVS Shop, Service Center.
  • Tell the representative that you want to transfer ownership of the SIM.
  • The representative will take permission from the current owner of the SIM.
  • The transferee (the person who wants to own SIM) will provide the respective SIM number with the CNIC number.
  • Place the thumb of the biometric device once for each SIM.
  • Call 788 (not 789) and follow instructions to provide your CNIC number to a customer representative.
  • The transferee will receive a confirmation SMS about the successful transfer.
  • Provide Rs 10 only for each SIM transferred. 

2- If you do not know the person to whom your SIM is registered

  • Get a copy of your CNIC
  • Go to the nearest Franchise, BVS Shop, Service Center.
  • Tell the representative that you have a SIM that is registered against someone else which you don’t know.
  • Provide respective SIM numbers with CNIC numbers.
  • Place Thumb on the biometric device once only for each SIM.
  • Call 788 (not 789) and follow instructions to provide your CNIC number to a customer representative.
  • You will receive a confirmation SMS about the successful transfer.
  • Provide Rs 10 only for each SIM registered.

After the completion of the above-mentioned step-by-step process then send a blank message to 667 to check out the SIM’s ownership details which are free of cost.
