ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Three-day anti-polio drive started in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan province on Monday.

According to Emergency Operations Center Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, more than over one million children below the age of five years would be administered anti-polio drops in 13 districts of the province, Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) and Frontier Regions during the campaign.

The health department has constituted 3,939 teams for this purpose.

Special arrangements have also been made to administer anti-polio drops to children of Temporarily Displaced Persons (IDPs) returning to their native areas.

In Balochistan, more than 1.6 million children under five years of age will be administered polio vaccination.

A three-day anti-polio campaign will also be started in Hyderabad on Monday.

More than 300,000 children of five years would be vaccinated during the campaign in 10 talukas of Hyderabad division.
