FoodRelief operation underway in flood-hit areas

Army and local administration continue to deliver relief items in flood hit areas.

Relief items including tents‚ food and medicines continue to pour in flood affected areas.

Punjab Disaster Management Authority has dispatched 15 more trucks of relief goods to the flood affected areas in the province.

District administrations and irrigation officials are working to restore the link roads and to fill the breaches along the canals.

According to ISPR‚ Pak Army conducted eight sorties and delivered 12 tons of food items in District Rajanpur.

In Sialkot‚ flooding in the Dek Nullah inundated some 47 villages of Pasrur‚ Zafarwal‚ Qila Ahmedabad and nearby areas.

Agricultural lands on hundreds of acres were also inundated by the floodwater in Pasrur and Zafarwal.

National Disaster Management Authority has so far distributed 13‚300 tents in flood hit areas of Sindh.

A dyke of Faridabad broke off due to flood in River Ravi inundating standing crops on thousands of acres of land.
