FoodRelief activities underway in flood-hit areas

Relief operations are continuing in flood-hit areas across the country and tents‚ food‚ medicines‚ and blankets are being distributed among the affected people.

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has so far distributed 25‚898 tents in different parts of the country.

According to data released by NDMA‚ 2330 tents have been distributed in Balochistan flood hit areas‚ 8800 in Sindh‚ 728 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 14‚040 in Punjab.

NDMA has also distributed 2800 food packs among the flood hit people of Balochistan‚ 66 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 1430 in Punjab.

The authority has distributed 300 blankets in Balochistan and 200 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It has distributed ten thousand mosquito nets in Sindh and four thousand in Balochistan.

The NDMA has said 84 people have died and 44 injured in floods in various areas of the country.

It said fifteen people have died in Punjab‚ fourteen in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa‚ twenty-two in Sindh‚ eighteen in Balochistan‚ twelve in FATA and three in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
