LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Friday presided over a high-level meeting in Lahore, in which he approved in principle various initiatives for the betterment of the Nursing Cadre.
Usman Buzdar will soon announce the mega package for Nurses.
In the meeting also attended by the Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid, the approval was accorded to upgrade the Service Structure of Nursing. It was also decided to streamline the promotion of Nurses.
Likewise, an approval in principle was also granted for awarding Scholarships for M.Phil and Ph.D Programmes in the field of Nursing.
It was decided that Hotels will also be built along with Nursing Colleges.
In his remarks at the meeting, the Punjab Chief Minister directed to take all necessary measures for the improvement of the Nursing Sector.
Usman Buzdar said that the provincial government has made revolutionary reforms in the health field.
The Chief Minister said that more than 5 million Sehat Insaf Cards have been distributed among the deserving persons across the province, adding that they will gradually expand the scope of the Sehat Insaf Card Programme.
The participants of the meeting were briefed by the Secretary Specialized Health and Medical Education on proposed measures for the improvement of the Nursing Cadre, Sehat Insaf Card, and the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute.
It was told that in the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute, so far 82 Kidney Transplants and 7 Liver Transplants have been performed, and all of them remain successful.
The Chief Minister directed to prepare a business plan for the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute.
