ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A proposal has been approved to establish 200-bedded Islamabad General Hospital at Tramri Chowk, Tarlai with estimated cost of Rs. 2718.41 million.
Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has accorded the approval to establish the Hospital and completion period of the said project is three years.
Sources at Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control on Friday said no trauma centre exists in Rural Health Centres, functioning under control of Health Department, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
However, the sources said ambulance service is available at Rural Health Centre Tarlai (Tramri) and Bhara Kahu, whereas Rawat and Tarnol are Basic Health Units.
A trauma centre will be established in the proposed Islamabad General Hospital at Tarlai (Tramri), the sources added.
Moreover, the sources said three (03) Rural Health Centres are functioning in Islamabad Capital Territory under the administrative control of Health Department and these are Rural Health Centre, Bhara Kahu, Rural Health Centre, Tarlai and Rural Health Centre, Sihala.
The facilities being provided at these Centres include are Primary Health Care, vaccination against eight EPI Target diseases, mother & child health care services, outpatient department services, free provision of medicines, medical lab, diagnostic facilities, TB control, dengue fever prevention (surveillance & response) and others community oriented programme.
