ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza has said that over 90 percent dengue patients are not required to be admitted in hospitals.

Speaking at a meeting regarding dengue in Islamabad on Wednesday, the special assistant said that steps are being taken on emergency basis to control spread of dengue under the direction of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Dr Zafar Mirza said that dengue patients are being provided with free medical treatment facilities in hospitals. He requested the dengue patients to bring their National Identity Cards (NICs) and provide their address to staff of the hospital so that the surveillance teams could ensure anti-dengue spray around their houses.

The special assistant said that mostly the dengue cases are being reported in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. He said that all the stakeholders and the administration are cooperative to eradicate the dengue virus.
