ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza has said that outbreak of dengue virus will be controlled in next few days and all out efforts are being made to provide medical facilities to dengue patients.

While addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, the Special Assistant said that medicines for the treatment of dengue patients and test kits to diagnose the virus are available in sufficient quantity in all hospitals.

Dr Zafar Mirza said that 16 inactive basic health units have been reactive to facilitate dengue patients in Islamabad. He said that duty hours of all hospitals and basic health units in Islamabad has also been doubled. He said that there is no dearth of medicines in the hospitals of the federal capital.

The Special Assistant said that fumigation is conducted regularly in Islamabad especially in dengue affected sectors of the federal capital. He said that there is no dearth of insecticide to carry out fumigation process.

Furthermore, he said that a hotline has been established to guide the people regarding the dengue virus. He said that expert doctors are available on 051- 9216890, 051-9212601 round the clock.
