ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: All matters pertaining to the National Examination Board (NEB) registration of candidates who have passed the examination are likely to be sorted out till July 30, 2020.
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) Spokesperson said on Monday that the NEB second examination of 2019 was conducted during the tenure of Pakistan Medical commission. In the said exam many foreign candidates were allowed without permission letter for the examination.
The Islamabad High Court (ICT) declared all functions of PMC illegal so the matter of registration of candidates who have passed the exam held in the month of February 2020 shall be placed before council through NEB committee.
All matters pertaining to NEB registration of candidates who have passed the examination are likely to be sorted out till 30th July 2020, it said.
Many foreign candidates have passed this NEB exam without getting their permission letter and without their MBBS/ BDS degrees verification before the exams held by Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC).
As per PM&DC criteria all foreign students can only sit in the exam of (NEB) when their foreign MBBS / BDS degrees are verified and authentic, the spokesperson said.
As Pakistan medical commission didn’t verify their degrees and let them sit in the exam so PM&DC has to send all these graduates MBBS/BDS degrees for verification. 90% verifications have been done and rests 10 % are awaited. As soon as all verifications are received certificates will be issued.
It is pertinent to mention that there are 11 candidates whose files are missing and few are fictitious.
There are 4 candidates who managed to sit in the NEB exam who were already declared fake as they made PM&DC fake registration certificates and their cases were under investigation.
Only 434 candidates were only issued permissions letter by PM&DC among the rest PM&DC is already working on the next upcoming examination of NEB keeping in view the current pandemic situation, she added.
