Health800,000 hospitals admissions made so far on Health Cards, NA told

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination has told the National Assembly that so far around 800,000 hospitals admissions have been made on Health Cards.

Replying to a question by Zahid Akram Durrani seeking details of the peoples who have benefited from the medical attendance and treatment facility since the launch of the Health Cards by the federal government, the minister told that the Health Card is recognized by all empaneled hospitals for agreed procedures as per their contract with the contracted insurance company.

The minister told that the total complaints received for denial of service are 2,578, and out of which 2,364 have been resolved, and the remaining are under process.

The Card Holder can appeal or lodge a complaint at the following in case the medical treatment or attendance is denied in approved hospitals;

  • Emailing
  • Sehat Sahulat Program help desk located at each empaneled hospital.
  • Feedback call which are made for each discharge from hospital by NADRA

To another question by Sheikh Rohale Asghar, the Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination told that there is no Federal Hospital in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) or otherwise that provide exclusively for the treatment of mental and psychological diseases.

However, psychiatric and psychological services are being rendered in PIMS, Polyclinic & NIRM in the ICT.

The minister said that also the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is functional at SZPGMI, Lahore and there is an established ward of Psychiatry in JPMC, Karachi too.
