Health5.2 million Health Insurance Cards so far distributed in Punjab: Yasmin Rashid

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid has said that 5.2 million Health Insurance Cards have so far been distributed amongst the most deserving families in the province.

Talking to media persons in Rawalpindi on Thursday, Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that Health Insurance Cards are for indoor facilities including neurosurgery, cardiac treatment, and dialysis.

The provincial health minister said that our plan is to extend the scope of the Insurance Scheme to the whole of the province.

Dr. Yasmin Rashid further said that the trial of the COVID-19 vaccine carried out in Canada in collaboration with China has been completed. She said that the results will begin pouring in in a few days.

The minister said that the anti-COVID vaccine will be administered to the Health Workers in the first phase.

Responding to a question, Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that the COVID-19 related deaths in Punjab have reduced.
