ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: There are 25,220 registered patients of AIDS in Pakistan, the Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Aamer Mehmood Kiani told the National Assembly on Monday.
In a written reply to a question by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Sheikh Rohale Asghar, the minister told that the number of estimated patients of AIDS in Pakistan is 1,50,000; however, the number of registered patients of AIDS in the Country is 25,220 till September 2018.
The health minister told that 2,616 registered AIDs patients are in the Federal Capital; 11,396 are in Punjab; 8,070 are in Sindh; 2,370 are in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; and 768 are in Balochistan.
The minister said that a total of 15,390 AIDS patients require treatment.
In reply to another question, Aamer Kiani told the House that the government of Pakistan is providing free of cost HIV treatment to patients of AIDS at following Centres in the Country at present;
