Health118,585 families registered under PM's Health Insurance Programme

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As many as 118,585 families have been registered under the Prime Minister’s Health Insurance Programme across the country to get free of cost medical treatment facilities.

The State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan, who is managing the programme, is in contact with the provincial governments to make the programme successful, Commerce Minister, Khurram Dastgir Khan was informed during a briefing by Head of the Corporation, Nargis Ghaloo here.

However, the corporation is facing some problems in areas of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Balochistan due to the security concerns for which strategy is being evolved to resolve these.

On the occasion, Commerce Minister directed the State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan to expand Prime Minister’s Health Insurance Programme in more cities to ensure provision of medical facilities to maximum people across the country.

He instructed for expediting the delivery of health insurance cards to the people and also asked for taking services from National Database Registration Authority (of NADRA) for effective monitoring of Health Insurance Programme.

The minister instructed for sharing information through IT system to ensure every department receives in time information.
