ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: For the third time within 15 days, Prime Minister Imran Khan had a telephonic conversation with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces His Highness Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Wednesday.

During the conversation, the prime minister strongly condemned the recent attempted missile attack by Houthis against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on January 30, 2022.

The prime minister commended the timely and effective air defence response of the UAE that saved valuable precious lives.

Imran Khan expressed abiding solidarity with the leadership, government, and the people of the UAE. He expressed deep concern at the recent escalation in attacks that have seriously threatened regional peace and security.

The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s abiding support for efforts to protect and promote regional peace and security through dialogue and diplomacy.

The two leaders also discussed bilateral cooperation and issues of mutual interest; and agreed to continue regular and close consultations at the highest level.

Earlier on January 19 and 24, 2022, the two leaders also discussed issues of mutual interest on the phone.
