ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The British High Commissioner Christian Turner has said that the way Pakistan is dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic is a role model for the United Kingdom.

Talking to the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Syed Shibli Faraz in Islamabad on Monday, Christian Turner said that both Pakistan and Britain are friends.

In his remarks, Senator Shibli Faraz said that Pakistan lauds the British government's efforts to combat COVID-19 with resoluteness. The information minister said that the Coronavirus pandemic has affected economies of the entire world, and emphasized the need for joint efforts at the international level to defeat the pandemic. Expressing condolence over the deaths in COVID-19 in Britain, the information minister expressed solidarity with the government and people of Britain in this difficult moment. Shibli Faraz said that in Pakistan, we have been sticking to a balanced policy of protecting people from the Coronavirus pandemic as well as economic difficulties. The information minister said that the strategy of smart lockdown is yielding positive results in Pakistan. The minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan initiated special efforts for debt relief for the Developing Countries. He said that it is welcoming that the G-20 Countries are playing key role for relief in debts. In his remarks, Senator Shibli Faraz said that Pakistan lauds the British government’s efforts to combat COVID-19 with resoluteness.
