PESHAWAR, Pakistan: President Mamnoon Hussain on Friday said that destiny of the nation would change with completion of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, for which, he added funds had been enhanced from $46 billion to over $57 billion.

While addressing a function in connection with birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Peshawar, the president clarified that no change had been made in the route of CPEC and all parts of the country would benefit from that huge project. He said that new projects had also been included in CPEC from all over the country.

President Mamnoon asked the youth to utilize the opportunities being generated by CPEC, adding that Central Asian states had also expressed willingness to join that project.

Mamnoon Hussain said that future of Pakistan was very bright as the nation had succeeded in elimination of terrorism.

The president said that law and order situation in the country including Karachi had greatly improved as a result of successful operations.

Moreover, he regretted that corruption damaged the society in the past but now the country was heading in right direction.

In his address on the occasion, the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra lauded the role of security forces and general public in elimination of terrorism from society.

Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said that about 85 percent temporarily displaced persons of Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) had returned to their native areas but the process now slowed down due to winter season.

The governor said that the remaining Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs) would be sent back to their areas by March 2017.

Earlier upon arrival to Peshawar, the president was received by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor and other senior leadership of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N). The leaders of PML-N KPK Chapter, politicians, lawmakers, students, academicians and officials were present on the occasion.
