ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that a massive national effort is underway to restore essential services in the flood-hit areas.

In a Twitter statement on Saturday, the prime minister said that the National Highway Authority (NHA), Power Distribution Companies (Discos), Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and other Federal Departments have done amazing work against the heaviest of odds and largely rehabilitated the damaged infrastructure.

“My appreciation for all public servants,” Shahbaz Sharif said.

Meanwhile, separately in a series of tweets, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif thanked the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed Bin Salman, the UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the Czech Republic Prime Minister Petr Fiala for their support to the people affected by floods in Pakistan.
