ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The State Minister of Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Friday launched the Official Logo of 70 years of Pakistan Independence

While unveiling Official Logo of 70 years of Pakistan Independence at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) in Islamabad, the minister said that the theme of celebrations is promotion of the cultural diversity of the Country.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the Pakistan Independence Day celebrations will continue by the end of 2017 and will include culture of all the provinces, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. She said that various specials programmes for 70 years independence celebrations are being organized on directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to promote Pakistan culture and traditions.

Moreover, the minister said that during the celebrations, the achievements of the government during the last four years for eradication of terrorism will also be highlighted.

The state minister said that likewise the achievements made in the energy, infrastructure, health, education and other sectors will also be highlighted.

In a bid to Celebrate 70 years of Pakistan Independence in a befitting manner, the government plans to hold months long events in the Federal Capital.

Throughout the remaining current year, various cultural shows, theaters, speech and songs competition, exhibitions and documentaries regarding the Independence Movement etc will be organized/shown.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway by the PNCA in collaboration with National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa), Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) and Nazria Pakistan Council to organize various Culture activities in Connection with Pakistan’s 70th Independence Day to be celebrated on August 14.

Chief of the Air Staff expressed his gratitude for the honour of receiving the Bahrain Medal - First Class. On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
