ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The top civil-military leadership on Wednesday said that terror-related incidents across the Country could not deter the resolve of the nation to eliminate terrorism from Pakistan.
The resolve was expressed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mehmood Hayat when they met in Islamabad today and discussed strategic matters as well as development programme of armed forces.
“It was agreed (during the meeting) that Lahore terror attack cannot deter the resolve of nation to eliminate terror from Pakistan,” said a statement issued by the PM’s Office.
The CJCSC said that the armed forces were fully committed to cleanse the Country from extremists and terrorists with the help of civilian security agencies.
The two leaders also paid homage to the fallen heroes of Police in Lahore.
It was the first meeting between the prime minister and a top military leader following the Lahore Suicide Blast which resulted in martyrdom of 15 people including senior police officers at Chairing Cross on Monday evening.
