PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Three Khasadars and two civilians embraced Shahadat when a suicide bomber blew himself up in Mohmand agency on Wednesday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed.

In a statement, the ISPR said that a suicide bomber tried to enter the Housing Colony of the local Political Administration but as he was stopped by security personnel at the gate, he blew himself up.

“3 Khasadars and two civilians embraced Shahadat when a suicider blew himself up when challenged by sentry,” the ISPR said.

The ISPR further said that the other suicide bomber was shot dead by the sentries (guards) at the gate.

“Security agencies had the intelligence about intrusion of suicide bombers from Afghanistan inside Mohmand agency,” the ISPR said in an earlier statement.

Meanwhile, sources in the Political Administration said that the incident took place in Ghalanai Headquarters of Mohmand agency.

Sources said that three Levies personnel were also injured in the blast, and were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar.

Soon after the blast the areas was sealed and a thorough search operation was initiated to nab perpetrators involved in this cowardice act, sources said.

In a statement, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed grief over loss of precious lives lost including Leviers Force personnel while thwarting attack on the Office of the Political Agent Mohmand agency.

The prime minister highly commended the selfless and dutiful role of armed forces in protecting the lives of citizens without fear of death.

The prime minister further said that it was the sacrifices of armed forces that made the motherland’s security impregnable.
