KARACHI: The strike has begun across the country by clerical staff of various government departments on Friday against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led federal government for not raising their salaries in the federal budget 2013-14.

The clerks are observing the strike in Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Faisalabad, Lahore and other cities of the country. The protesters have locked their offices and are chanting slogans against the government.

“We will besiege the Parliament House on June 21. We will observe protest demonstrations on regular basis from Friday,” the All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) said on Thursday.

In Peshawar, the APCA Deputy General Secretary Amjad Ali told newsmen that they would continue to observe strike till raise in their salaries by 50 percent.



Moreover, railway workers are also protesting for the same reason in several cities of the country terming the budget as the cruelty towards the people.
