MULTAN: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousuf Raza Gillani’s son, Ali Haider Gillani, was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen in Multan on Thursday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

According to reports, unknown gunmen opened fire on the vehicle of Syed Ali Haider Gilani as he drove into a Pakistan Peoples’ Party’s (PPP) election rally in PP-200 in Multan’s Farukh Town and abducted him.

The secretary of Syed Ali Haider Gilani, Mohiyudin , was killed as a result of firing and five others were injured.

After the kidnapping, Gilani’s sons, Ali Musa and Abdul Qadir were seen to be angry and in tears.

“I will not allow elections to be held in my constituency at any cost. My brother is gone, how can I let polls take place in Multan,” an emotional Ali Musa Gilani told television channels.

According to reports, Ali Haider was warned earlier by groups against campaigning for elections in Multan.

PM Mir Hazar Khan Khoso has taken a notice of the incident of kidnapping of Ali Haider Gilani and condemned the firing incident in Multan.
