ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has condemned in the strongest terms the heinous terrorist attack in Central Vienna on Monday night, resulting in the loss of precious lives and wounding several more.

“We would like to convey our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the families of the innocent victims and wish a speedy recovery to those injured,” said a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Tuesday.

“Pakistan reiterates its condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” the statement added.

Three civilians and 15 others including a police officer were injured when gunmen armed with rifles launched the assault in six different locations in Austria’s Capital.

The Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz described the shooting as a “hideous terrorist attack.”

The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed concern over attacks in Vienna.

In a statement, the UN Secretary General’s Spokesman Stephane Dujarric said that he is following with utmost concern the still evolving situation in Vienna’s City Center.
