BEIJING, China: The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday met with the Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC) Liu Jianchao in Beijing.
They discussed the longstanding cooperation and exchanges between the political parties of Pakistan and the Communist Party of China.
Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm support to China on its core issues while Liu Jianchao expressed China’s support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and high-quality socioeconomic development.
The two leaders also reaffirmed the importance of the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Pakistan and China and to further reinforce mutually beneficial collaboration.
They expressed joint determination to accelerate progress on all China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects including Main Line-1 (ML-1) upgradation, Gwadar Port and Karakoram Highway (KKH) realignment.
Senator Ishaq Dar is currently in Beijing on an official visit from May 13 to 16, 2024 to co-chair the Fifth Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue with the Chinese Foreign Minister and Director of the General Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China Wang Yi covering the full spectrum of bilateral relations.
On the sidelines of the Strategic Dialogue, Ishaq Dar is also holding meetings with Chinese leaders and senior officials and with prominent business enterprises.
