LAHORE: The Fatima Memorial Hospital (FMH) and the Jahanara Memorial Trust (JMT) presented Dara by Ajoka theatre.

The fundraiser was held to create awareness of the ER services provided at FMH in collaboration with JMT. The play was sponsored by Maple Leaf, Dion Jewellery and Engro Vopak while Radio1FM91 was the official radio partner.

The play was based on the life of Dara Shikoh, the eldest son of the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan who was imprisoned and executed by his younger brother Aurangzeb; Dara Shikoh was not only a crown prince but also a poet, painter and a sufi.

As a joint initiative by JMT and FMH, the state of the art Emergency Room was launched last year with a contribution of JMT; The ER has been developed based on international standards and best practices.

Jahanara Memorial Trust extends its support in reaching out to the people who believe in the need of excellent emergency care services to save humanity. Currently, JMT are catering to about 60,000 patients per year of different age groups including children and adults, who come to the ER of Fatima Memorial Hospital with various health problems and are treated by capable doctors and surgeons, and specialists on call.

Fatima Memorial Hospital is a not for profit hospital situated in the heart of Lahore. It was established in 1977 as a 200 bed community hospital for women and children. Over the years it has evolved into a 510 bed, multi-specialty tertiary care teaching hospital offering state of the art clinical & diagnostic services through experts in various fields to patients from all walks of life. As an academic institution, it trains health care professional in Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and Allied Health Science.

Till date, FMH has treated 6.44 Million patients, out of which 85% were provided medication, diagnostic & surgical facilities, either free or at highly subsidized rates.
