ABU DHABI, UAE: To celebrate the National Day of Pakistan, an elegant Flag Hoisting Ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi.

A large number of Pakistani Community residing in the UAE attended the ceremony.

Messages of the President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif were read out and children of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Arab Pakistan School presented national tableaus on national songs.

In his address, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Faisal Niaz Tirmizi highlighted the significance of the national day as it had laid down the foundation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent. Ambassador Tirmizi also referred to the great sacrifices made by our forefathers under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for the creation of Pakistan.

Ambassador Faisal Tirmizi also appealed to the Pakistani community to use regular banking channels to send their remittances to Pakistan. He also requested Pakistani community to promote tourism and investment opportunities in Pakistan among the nationals and residents of the UAE and take them to Pakistan to show its rich cultural diversity, amazing natural beauty, delicious cuisine and the warm hospitality.

Using the occasion, the ambassador also expressed satisfaction on the upward trajectory of Pakistan-UAE relations and thanked the government of the UAE and its leadership to be a steadfast friend of Pakistan.

The ambassador also underscored deep historic relations between the two countries whose foundation was laid by Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founding President of the UAE.

In conclusion, Ambassador Faisal Tirmizi urged Pakistani students to excel in academic and extra-curricular activities to make Pakistan proud and strong.

Meanwhile, in his message to the Pakistani Community on the occasion of the National Day of Pakistan, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi said that “It is a great honor for me to extend heartiest felicitations to Pakistani Community in the UAE on the occasion on the National Day of Pakistan. Lying at the crossroads of South Asia, Middle East, and Central Asia, Pakistan is a beautiful mosaic of different cultures, languages, cuisines, art, architecture & faiths. May Allah bless our beloved Country.”
