ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The minimum Fitrana amount in 2020 has again been fixed as Rs 100 per person in Pakistan, and Muslims are required to pay it before the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer, as per the Chairman of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.

Fitrana or Sadqa-e-Fitr is annually paid by Muslims in the holy month of Ramazan to the deserving persons.

   

It aims at to rectify the shortcomings an adult Muslim is likely to deal with as he/she tries to fully abide by Allah’s directives in Ramazan and to help the needy people enjoy the Eid.

According to Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, the minimum amount of Fitrana needed to be paid in 2020 is Rs 100 per person.

Likewise, it will be Rs 320 with respect to four-kilogram barley, Rs 1,600 with respect to four-kilogram dates, and Rs 1,920 with respect to four-kilogram raisins. In 2020, the 'Nisab for Zakat' has officially been fixed as Rs 46,329. The Eid-ul-Fitr is most likely to fall in 2020 on May 25 (Monday) in Pakistan.

The Eid-ul-Fitr is most likely to fall in 2020 on May 25 (Monday) in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, faithful have begun observing ‘Itikaf’ at mosques and homes, and they will continue to worship till the sighting of Shawwal moon.
