ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The meeting of the Federal Cabinet with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Chair began at PM Office in Islamabad on Wednesday to approve a eight-point agenda, sources said.

Sources said that the Federal Cabinet will approve the decision of withdrawing discretionary funds from all Federal Ministries and Divisions.

Sources said that an approval to the appointment of an interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is also part of meeting’s agenda.

Last Monday, the Supreme Court of Pakistan declared the appointment of PIA CEO Musharraf Rasool Cyan as null and void, ruling that his appointment was made in violation of Rules of 2013 and the Public Sector Companies (appointment of Chief Executive) Guidelines of 2015.

During the Federal Cabinet meeting, the task force formed to bring the looted money back to the Country from abroad will brief the prime minister and ministers

Proposals prepared by the task force will also be reviewed in the Cabinet meeting.

It’s the fourth meeting of the Federal Cabinet since its members took Oath of their Offices on August 20, 2018.
