Two more polio cases confirmed in Karachi

KARACHI, Pakistan: The total number of polio cases in Sindh rose to 14 in 2014 after two new such cases were detected in Karachi on Thursday.

Out of 14 polio cases confirmed in Sindh this year, 13 cases were reported from the provincial capital alone while one case was reported from a village of Sindh’s Sanghar district.

Following the confirmation of two more polio cases, total number of polio cases in 2014 has reached 160 across Pakistan which stands among three countries where the crippling virus is endemic; the other two are Afghanistan and Nigeria.
