ITB Berlin 2015 is bringing new opportunities to Central Asian countries

Islamabad, Pakistan: The ITB Berlin 2015 is bringing new opportunities to Central Asian countries as Central Asian countries states have now moved to Hall 2.1, alongside Russia and the USA.

It may be mentioned that stalls of Central Asian states were previously situated in Hall 7.2a. Tourism and travel stakeholders from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are installing their stalls in their country pavilions.

Uzbekistan is attending this mega event as Award winning country as one of the tourism company from Uzbekistan has got its first ever TO DO International award. Silk Road Destinations (C.A.T.I.A) from Samarkand Uzbekistan has been awarded. This project namely “Mitan Responsible Tourism Project” from Uzbekistan that has been awarded is unique in a way that no local or foreign funding is involved in this project from the stage of initialization to the level of its operations. The 20th Award Ceremony of the International Contest Socially Responsible Tourism (To DO 2014 Award) will be held on March 4, 2015 at ITB Berlin.

This new Hall will provide ample opportunities to Central Asian tour operators to interact English speaking market as USA staff is usually a hub of activities and visitors.

Final preparations are being made for the 49th edition of the show that will take place from 4 to 8 March 2015 and more than 10,000 exhibitors from around 190 countries and regions will be presenting their products and services in the 26 display halls on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds while 100,000 trade visitors are expected to attend the event.

India is among the countries occupying an entire hall again while Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal have booked stalls fr and Gilgit-Baltistan, a hiking destination in Pakistan, are newcomers to the show. Iran is becoming increasing popular as a tourm South Asia.

Turkey is placing “The Turkish Village” in Hall 3.1, where tourist boards, tour operators (including first-time exhibitors novissima Touristic, Suay Tour and Afrodit Tour) as well as those representing the culture and wellness segments are gathered under one roof.

ITB Berlin 2015 will take place from March 4 to March 9. From Wednesday to Friday, ITB Berlin is open to trade visitors only. The ITB Berlin Convention is held parallel with the trade fair, from Wednesday to Saturday. It is the world’s largest specialist convention for the industry.

In 2014 a total of 10,147 companies and organisations from 189 countries exhibited their products and services to 174,000 visitors, who included 114,000 trade visitors.

Chief of the Air Staff expressed his gratitude for the honour of receiving the Bahrain Medal - First Class. On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
