ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People Party (PPP) Senator Raza Rabbani on Friday resigned from the parliamentary committee on appointment of judges, while Senator Farooq H Naik has replaced him as the member of committee.

As per details, Rabbani said he had presented his resignation to the Leader of Opposition in the Senate Aitzaz Ahsan, stating that he considered his presence on the committee might cause a clash of interest because he was a practicing lawyer of the high court and the Supreme Court.

After the resignation of Rabbani, the PPP leadership enlisted the name of former law minister Farooq H Naik replacing with Rabbani. The PPP has also issued notification of Naik’s appointment.
