ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday secured the support of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) as Chaudhry Pervez Elahi announced to back PTI’s protest on November 2.

“Opposition parties should come on one page now,” the PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said while talking to media in Islamabad after a meeting with PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

“We will support PTI and Imran Khan in protest against the government,” Pervez Elahi said.

The PML-Q leader said that everyone should have supported Imran Khan to save the country as the PTI Chairman was the only ray of hope.

In his remarks on the occasion, Shah Mehmood Qureshi expressed gratitude to Chaudhry Pervez Elahi for PML-Q’s support to PTI’s protest call.

“We thank PML-Q for their announcement to support November 2 PTI’s protest call,” Qureshi said.

Earlier Shah Mehmood Qureshi met Pervez Elahi and discussed the current political situation in the country. He also delivered Imran Khan’s message to PML-Q leadership in which PML-Q was invited to join PTI’s protest on November 2.

However, the Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader Khursheed Shah while talking to media persons in Sukkur on Saturday said that locking down Islamabad by the PTI on November 2 would be an illegal step.

Khursheed said that though it was the right of political parties to stage protests and sit-ins but locking down any city or institution was contrary to constitution and law.
